DETAILS:

The Art Center of Englewood was founded in early 2025 by artists Dionne Victoria and Andre Brown, who transformed their former two-flat home at 748 W. 69th St. into a vibrant community art space. The center offers family-friendly residencies, affordable studio rentals, gallery spaces, and workshops, all designed to support artists and community members alike. The original two-flat was built circa 1910–1913. With its red‑brick façade, modest ornamentation, and symmetrical window bays, it typifies vernacular Chicago flats of the era. The building underwent a full interior renovation in 2020, with classic features like hardwood floors and crown moldings paired with modern updates. Kitchens feature fresh cabinetry, granite countertops, and backsplashes; bathrooms have ceramic surrounds and new vanities.

VISITOR EXPERIENCE:

Every hour on the hour, guided tours will be given, showcasing the spaces, the art exhibitions, and merchandise for sale. The studio will be open for a small art making activity.
